Many of our minds are in an endless circular loop with no end an no beginning, same old same old.To get out of this loop [Q] i suppose we need to know where we want to go akin to a roundabout where you can only get out when you've chosen where to go. Many people tell us to have an end in mind but that's only half the story since we all obviously imply the end to be our end and then set out to dream big. The house the car the account. Its useless and the bare motivation it could give you is transient. Its probably endorphin inducing images that allow the selling of books that lead so many leaders to propose this path.
The end is the end of others. If you cant improve peoples lives, if you cant contribute to the end of the masses then you will never taste the luxuries of true success. Give the people what they need and you will get what you want. Thats the philosophy of the college, we spend all our time on what our family of students need to become the leaders that they were born to be.
I saw this picture the other day and i made me imagine myself there looking back at him, who would have though then. The ironic thing is that he looks exactly the same as any student we have. There is is no difference between a picture of you today and the kid in the pic. Its whether you get to the next picture thats vital.
The difference in hindsight is that he was focused almost obsessed on an idea that would help the world use the power of computers better. He had no idea how much he made or what was in his bank as he states in an interview with Wired. The only thing that bridges the two pictures is an imagination to create and lead that which is not there yet, a simple obsession and focus on improving the lives of others [the end of others in mind] and the confidence to see it through come what may.

Perhaps we need to update poor alice... start at the beginning, go till then end then make new paths, never stop!. But the important thing in all this is to start. Get out of the loop and improve the world, the bridge will find its way to your feet.
take home: image how to improve all our lives not just yours.
;) by the way, on your path, we suggest you stay away from certain detours...

Gates in 1977 arrested for speeding [which happened often]~ well make sure that your path at Lincoln is more of a highway with little avenues for detours ;)
